Enige tijd geleden heb je je aangemeld en of deelgenomen aan de lezing van Meino Smit,
auteur van het boek “Naar een duurzame landbouw in 20140, in Winterswijk.
Tijdens die bijeenkomst werd ook verwezen naar een eerder (2014) uitgekomen boek van
Prof. Schmidt-Bleek met de titel “Grune lugen” (Groene Leugens). Zie hiervoor www.factor10.de

Op 12 juni 2024 organiseerde het Planbureau voor de Leefomgeving (PBL) een seminar
over Global Resources Outlook 2024 van het International Resources Panel van de Verenigde Naties.
Hoogleraar Hans Bruyninckx, coördinerend hoofdauteur van het rapport, presenteerde de belangrijkste conclusies.
De daaropvolgende paneldiscussie ging in op de betekenis daarvan voor Nederland.

The Corona Crisis is frequently commented upon these days with the question if this crisis impacts the Climate and Ecology Crises. It is much too early to say that, but some observation can be made from looking at voices and debates in the public media. In this contribution it is mainly Dutch media that are looked at (but not only). The suggestion is made that there are many similarities and many differences, between these crises, but one practical element that is pointed at is the first aid systems that are deployed to help the ill. Even when these systems are overburdened and in distress because of the volume of severity of cases, it is clear these systems are vital. When it comes to climate and ecological distress one could state that first aid systems are lacking. There are no public or private services helping civilians to act on symptoms (physical and mental) to restore and put in place a balance with nature. As leaders and key people within public services call for a Post Corona Economy that has made structural changes to how it functions and can deal with a health crisis (like Corona or maybe the next Corona), it is suggested to include ecological public services into those structural changes.

Leven met de Aarde ondersteunt onderstaand manifest en heeft op wereldaardedag 22 april 2020 brieven gezonden aan de Commissies in de Tweede Kamer, de provincies en de gemeenten.
COVID-19 doet de wereld op haar grondvesten schudden. De coronapandemie heeft nu al talloze levens gekost en ontwricht, terwijl hulpverleners keihard werken om zieken te verzorgen en verdere verspreiding te voorkomen. De strijd om de enorme persoonlijke en maatschappelijke verliezen te beperken verdient onze waardering en steun. Tegelijkertijd is het van belang om deze pandemie in een historische context te plaatsen om in de toekomst een herhaling van fouten uit het verleden te vermijden.

Sinds onze vorige nieuwsbrief is er weer heel wat gebeurd. Op onze website kun je er meer over lezen.
Jullie hebben in redelijke getalen het onderwerp 'basisinkomen' ingestuurd naar de organisatie van 'GroenLinks in Gesprek'. In de loop van januari/februari komen er waarschijnlijk twee debatten over binnen de partij.

D66 heeft afgelopen zaterdag op hun congres drie moties voor basisinkomen ingestemd! Volgend weekend spreekt de PvdA erover op hun congres.
En gisteren stond een artikel van Alexander samen met PvdA, D66 en zelfs VVD in de Volkskrant.
We hebben gehoord dat volgend jaar april de uitslagen van de lokale experimenten naar buiten komen. We zijn benieuwd!

That such an initiative carries with it a great promise almost goes without saying. The themes are intertwined in a variety of ways, from social justice to air pollution. It is all the more unfortunate that the event failed in several important respects. In what follows I will attempt to represent the essence of some of the presentations given.
